Break & Escape Window Breaker and Seat Belt Cutter Kit

These breakers are super easy to carry or store, and they work great in emergencies. After getting a set of four, I tried them out on the demo glass panels that came with them, and they all passed the tests. I put three in my car—one in the front and two in the back. I also took one in my backpack on a recent trip to Asia. Since I mostly used public transportation while traveling, having the tool with me gave me extra peace of mind. The best part about these breakers is their compact size, so you can always have one with you. I highly recommend them!

UPDATE: This device DOES have a seatbelt cutter. On the two black devices, the covers on the cutter ends were both difficult to remove. The covers on the red devices were easy to remove.Original post: This device is palm sized and the barrel diameter is small. It comes with a cap to cover the pointed end, but the point stays recessed within the spring operated barrel so the cap seems unnecessary to me. There is an adhesive clip to attach the device to a smooth surface. The device slides easily out of the clip so it could go flying in an accident. There is a piece of auto glass to practice on. Leave the glass in the unopened baggie to practice. This keeps you shielded from broken glass. It took me several tries to break the piece of glass. It takes a firm grip on the device and a decisive thrust to make the recessed point emerge far enough to hit the glass. There is also a loop on the end to hang the device from belt or purse. A person with a weak grip may have difficulty using this device. I had to make a fist around the barrel and hold my thumb over the looped end to hold it firmly, then hit the glass quite hard. This device works, but for me personally, I am looking for one with a larger, ergonomic grip and a seat belt cutter that is easy to access.

I ordered this Cobra Mart 2-in-1 emergency window breaker and seatbelt cutter set after my brother-in-law, who is a Fire Fighter Captain, strongly recommended that everyone keep one of these tools in their cars. Honestly, I hope we never have to use them, but having them in the car gives me a lot of peace of mind. The tools are compact but feel solid, and the design is straightforward. One end is made to shatter a car window in an emergency, while the recessed blade can quickly cut through a seatbelt if it’s jammed after an accident.I like that this pack comes with four tools, so we were able to put one in each of our cars and still have extras. They’re small enough to keep in the glove box, door pocket, or even on a keychain so they’re easy to reach if you ever needed them. Overall, this is one of those simple safety items that you hope never gets used, but it’s reassuring to know it’s there just in case. If someone in emergency services recommends something for car safety, I tend to listen, and this feels like a really smart thing for every driver to keep in their car!

Made great christmas gifts

I got these for all of my driving kids this year for Christmas. It was quite amazing how they broke the sample glass so easily. They seem durable and were less expensive than other brands. They are light weight and will be easy to keep in the car in case of emergency.

I purchased these for my Family. I hope we Never need to use them, but just incase its a Great item to have!!!

I purchased about 10 of these to give away during Christmas and my nephew tried it on the glass that came with it. It worked excellent.

I love that it came with glass so you could practice using it That is amazing but to people don't take the glass out of the plastic like I did you'll regret it.

Compact, but efficient size; easily fits in center console. Tester glass is provided to let you practice how hard you have to push to make it work to shatter tempered glass, is a very reassuring aspect. Have bought some for gifts to give to family members!

The four devices in the pack come packed in individual boxes, each with a small disk of glass that is stated to be for practice. The pointy tip looks untouched, so I guess my practice is also the quality assurance control for the device, at the same time. Pretty simple mechanics, so it’s hard for these to go wrong, I guess. I only tested one of the glass breakers and it surely packs a punch. The seat belt cutter is also sharp, and while it felt awkward cutting rope with it for a test the seat-belt material is more rigid and will probably get a clean cut when tensioned. So, I would say these devices do work. The end caps are pressed-in and have gaskets sealing well – good design decision not to use threaded caps, which are prone to get stuck and take longer to take out. These look sturdy enough for sporadic use, hopefully nobody would need these daily.Each device comes with a base it slides in, with the base having a double-sided adhesive pad to attach on the car’s interior. I doubt this base would retain the device in an impact if the forces happen to push the device out. For such a device that has to stay handy specifically in accidents this base could have been better designed, for secure retention yet easy removal of the device, like using an oversized clamp mechanism. Also, in spite of the low weight of the device the adhesive pad doesn’t look like a match for the forces trying to rip the mount off in an accident. Screws for attaching to the console or lower side of the dashboard would be safer.There are no detailed instructions included with these devices. I think there should be. The notes on each of the cardboard boxes are brief and to the point, but without drawings and, in my opinion, without enough details. It is mentioned that one should attempt breaking a side window instead of the windshield if the windshield is laminated, but there is no further elaboration on why, and hints on how to quickly and thoroughly remove the glass. For a possibly life saving device, detailed instructions are as life-saving, too.The one concern I have is the quality of the internal parts. The device is well sealed and the outer case is corrosion resistant. But if moisture made it in when it was opened for checking or just to make sure the caps are not stuck, if the spring can rust over time the functionality may get compromised. I would have liked the description to mention corrosion resistance not just for the outer case.Overall, these devices are working and can be a life saver. I suggest considering a better designed base to affix them securely somewhere handy inside the car. And better instructions are needed.

This is a small, red 3.5" long tool for cutting a seat belt or breaking the glass if you are in a situation where either of those things would be necessary. It come with a small circle of tempered glass so you can test out how the glass breaking tool works. Also included is a snap-in holder for the tool and the holder has a sticky circle so you can attach it to your glass or dashboard. Be sure to open both ends before placing in your car. I had to have hubby open the seat belt cutter end. Once open, I had no trouble closing and reopening it but I wouldn't have wanted to need it and not be able to open it!
